Camera: 3.2 Megapixels
Connectivity: BluetoothCable/USB

Weight: 150g
Size: 109 x 45.6 x 14.6mm

the Nokia 8800 Arte is an impressive looking model. It's nice and heavy, with a good solid feel - made from the finest smoked glass and metals. The phone offers shutter over the keys, and when closed it makes the phone look classy. The mix of black metal and chrome makes this phone look a million pounds.

Two softkeys which light up when the phone is on offer a nice extra design element to the phone, with a decent sized keypad that feels comfortable to use.

The 8800 Arte features a 3.2 megapixel camera slapped on the sparse, but clean, back of the phone. There is also 1GB of storage space inside the phone, which is plenty for keeping hundreds of photos. There is, however, no extra memory slot to stick in additional memory - which is a let down.

The Music player is decent, but the sound quality isn't. The phone doesn't come with any headphones, and there is no slot on the phone to insert your own - so you're forced to listen through loud-speaker - another big let down.

Finally, the battery life is weak, which is the final straw that broke the camels back

The active TFT display has 262,144 colours, giving fantastic images, and is great for viewing photos or videos you may take on the SVGA camera, with video recording and video streaming functions provided. Along with the camera the 8800 also incorporates a music player, FM radio and a 3D image engine giving enhanced graphics to keep you entertained.

In addition to all these great features the Nokia 8800, has a huge range of connectivity systems such as EDGE, GPRS, USB connectivity, device-device synchronisation and TCP/IP support for access to the internet. Moreover this handset is tri-band and so can be used anywhere in the world.

You only have to look at the Nokia 8800 to see it is a great phone.

Nokia 7900 Prism

Phone Features
Memory: 1 GB
Display: 16 Million Colours
Browser: WAP, XHTML
Call Time: 180
Standby: 240
Camera: 2 Megapixels
Connectivity: BluetoothCable/USB
Music Formats: AACMP3WMA
Weight: 101g
Size: 112 x 45 x 11.3mm

The extremly unique and stylish 7900 Prism offers an eyecatching design, with prism like buttons and a sleek interface. The 7900 is a lot classier than the 7500, with a heavier feel but a thiner body. Also, unlike the 7500, the case is made of matt-aluminium, which adds to the weight and overall sturdyness of the phone.

The phone offers a standard 2 mega pixel camera, which works well, along with features such as being able to change the picture from landscape to portrait, along with colour changes and other minor effects.

Along with the camera, the 7900 features bluetooth and a 3G device with video call support using the VGA camera on the front of the phone. The Screen uses a pin-sharp new technology called OLED which offers crisp, clear and bright picture quality.

A 1GB internal storage is included, although there is no support for an additional memory stick of any type, which is a shame. The battery life on the phone is respectable, but not as strong as some other models.

Nokia 7500 Prism

Phone Features
Memory: 30MB
Display: 16 Million Colours
Browser: WAP, XHTML
Call Time: 170 mins
Standby: 240 hours
Camera: 2 Megapixels
Connectivity: Bluetooth
Music Formats: AACMP3WMA
Weight: 83g
Size: 109 x 44 x 14mm

The Nokia 7500, unlike the 7900, is very lightweight, with a plastic casing and a thicker body. Despite that, however, the model still delivers a sleek design with prism keys and a solid feel. The Phone offers a sexy design with curved edges and jet black colouring.

The mid-range phone offers a standard 2 megapixel camera, which is fine for sending picture messages of your favourite moments, but not a lot more. Coupled with the camera is a standard music player, GPRS and Tri-Band connectivity along with Bluetooth - nothing new, but still generally expected on a phone.

The main selling point of the 7500 is the centre joystick, which does a great job of helping to navigate around the standard and well loved Nokia menu system, with different directional pushes sending you to various sections of the phone.

Although there is nothing to wow the target audience, the Nokia 7500 prism does deliver the required features of any phone, and caters in a decent looking design along with it

The Nokia 6600 slide is quite a nifty little device that fits neatly in the hand with tap command functionality and boasting a 3.2 mega pixel camera, lets take a closer look at the Nokia 6600 slide.

The Device

For such a small phone its amazing how many features Nokia have managed to cram into the 6600 slide.

You have a camera on the front for video calls, 3G, FM radio and Bluetooth just to mention some of this phones features.

I’m not sure if browsing the internet is something you would be doing on a 2.2inch screen but nevertheless the 3G HSDPA speeds are adequate but not great. The resolution the of the display is colourful and bright, owing to the 16 million colour 240x320 pixel display.

A feature that has been explored on other handsets in one form or another, is gesture functionality or accelerometer. The Nokia 6600 slide has a Tap command features used here to great effect. By tapping the screen twice you can mute the ringtone of incoming calls. You can also while in standby tap the screen twice for the time to be displayed and also cancel alarms too.

Looking at the Nokia 6600 slide the front of the device is quite spare with only the usual call buttons, two soft keys and directional pad.

The directional pad also has the customary centre push button for confirming selection of menu items.

The Nokia 6280 integrates Nokia’s latest photographic technology with an attractive and sleek slide-down handset. The 2 mega-pixel camera allows for great pictures whilst the 262k built-in colour screen provides a clear and powerful display.

The camera incorporates a flash facility and 8x digital zoom to give great pictures in a variety of environments. Video footage can also be recorded and then shared with friends and family through MMS in 3GP or MP4 formats. The Nokia 6280 includes a host of multimedia features and much of the latest technology including Bluetooth, EDGE, and WCDMA, while maintaining an easy to use navigation keypad. The Nokia 6280 has an internal memory of 6MB, but with the option to increase this to 64MB via a miniSD card.

The Nokia 6280 is potentially one of the best 3G phones currently available on the market. However, it can be very unreliable and there have been a variety of faults reported - from memory card faults, to shutting down and even total failure. Buyer beware!

Nokia 6220 Classic

Phone Features
Memory: 120 MB
Display: 16 million colours
Browser: XHTML, WAP 2.0, HTML
Call Time: 2.5 h
Standby: 250 h
Camera: 5 MP
Connectivity: BluetoothCable/USB
Music Formats: AACMP3WMA
Weight: 90g
Size: 108 x 47 x 15mm

The Nokia 6220 Classic is a slim compact handset packed to the brim with features and functionality, it may not look the best, but underneath that bland exterior is a lot to be found.

The Device

The Nokia 6220 Classic is an amazing device for the price of the handset with features comprisable to that of the Nokia N95.

Looking at the front case you have the usual array of buttons, I found the keyboard and casing felt a little plasticity, not the usual sturdy construction Nokia is known for, but I can only put that down to the price of the handset. The keys are all flush to the device and a reasonable size for the size of the handset.

The 2.2inch display is bright and crisp, although with the addition of the S60 3rd Edition some text can appear a little small, but this is not a major problem.

On the bottom of the handset there is a micro UBS port for transferring data, a charging socket and 2.5 mm audio jack socket, as always it would have been great to have a 3.5 mm jack, but you do get TV/Hi-Fi out leads something that usually only appears on high end devices.

On the left of the device is the micro SD slot expandable upto 8GB and a rather unique feature is the quick launch button for Nokia Maps.

On the right of the device is the volume rocker and quick launch camera button.

The back of the device is where the Nokia 6220 Classic really come into its own. The 5 mega pixel Carl Zeiss auto focus lens is protected by a manual lense cover, but that’s not all you also get a xenon flash, truly outstanding.
