The Nokia 6600 slide is quite a nifty little device that fits neatly in the hand with tap command functionality and boasting a 3.2 mega pixel camera, lets take a closer look at the Nokia 6600 slide.

The Device

For such a small phone its amazing how many features Nokia have managed to cram into the 6600 slide.

You have a camera on the front for video calls, 3G, FM radio and Bluetooth just to mention some of this phones features.

I’m not sure if browsing the internet is something you would be doing on a 2.2inch screen but nevertheless the 3G HSDPA speeds are adequate but not great. The resolution the of the display is colourful and bright, owing to the 16 million colour 240x320 pixel display.

A feature that has been explored on other handsets in one form or another, is gesture functionality or accelerometer. The Nokia 6600 slide has a Tap command features used here to great effect. By tapping the screen twice you can mute the ringtone of incoming calls. You can also while in standby tap the screen twice for the time to be displayed and also cancel alarms too.

Looking at the Nokia 6600 slide the front of the device is quite spare with only the usual call buttons, two soft keys and directional pad.

The directional pad also has the customary centre push button for confirming selection of menu items.
